Ronald Eugene "Ronnie" Kirby, 72, of 346 Dakota Street in Spartanburg, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Ronnie was born in Bells, Tennessee on January 30, 1949, a son of the late Frances Elou Gopher Kirby and Gordon Eugene Kirby. He was the husband of Sonja Gail Lindsey Kirby, celebrating 54 years of marriage. He retired from J.M. Smith Corporation in Spartanburg.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by two sons; Jamie Kirby and his wife, Suzie, of Boiling Springs, Jeff Kirby of Spartanburg, a daughter; Donna Hopkins and her husband, Wendall, of Lyman, two brothers; Carmen Kirby of Union and Tommy Kirby, a sister; Melissa Parsons of Cowpens, and six grandchildren; Steven Howell, Aaron Howell, Christy Kirby, Caitlin Kirby, Hayden Kirby, and Tanner Kirby.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, August 18th at Seawright Funeral Chapel in Inman, conducted by Rev. Shelby Mills, with private burial at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gibbs Cancer Center, 101 E. Wood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
