Mr. Ronald "Ronnie" Franklin Newman, 56, of 5761 New Cut Road, died Sunday, January 17th, 2010 at Smith Phayer Hospice House in Landrum.
Mr. Newman was born in Spartanburg on November 8, 1953, the son of the late William Francis and Mabel D. Johnson Newman.
He was the husband of Donna Hawkins Newman and was a member of Apalache Baptist Church. He was employed at Insulfab Plastics.
Other survivors include a son Christopher David Newman, a daughter, Lindsay Caroline Newman both of Inman, a sister Judy Hutchinson and her husband Tom of Savannah, Ga., two brothers, Roger Newman and his wife Janis and Terry Newman all of Inman, a sister-in-law, Gail Johnson and a number of nieces and nephews. The family says that Ronnie never met an old car that he didn't like. He loved to travel, enjoyed good food and was a friend to everyone he met!
The family is at the home and will receive friends Wednesday, January 20, 2010 from 1:30 to 3:00 PM. at the funeral home with a "Celebration of Life" memorial service at 3:00 PM in the Seawright Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Revs. Donnan Lawson and Mark Cannon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Smith Phayer Hospice House, 260 Fairwinds Rd. Landrum, SC 29356.
