Roger Martin Hallgren, 78, of Boiling Springs, SC, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at his home. Roger was born in Boston, Mass. on June 21, 1938, a son of the late Raymond and Ruth (Lawson) Hallgren. He was the husband of Nancy (Gustavison) Hallgren. He retired from Polaroid and worked 20 years for the E.R. Lewin Co. and was a member of New Beginnings United Methodist Church in Boiling Springs, SC . Roger served in the U.S. Coast Guard and was a member of the Riverbend Sportsmen Club and the Walpole Sportsmen Club in Walpole, MA. In addition to his wife Roger is also survived by two daughters, Linda Marie Roche (Michael), of Franklin, MA; Barbara Ann DiPlacido (Richard), of Bethel, Maine; and a sister, Phyllis Gomes, of Port St. Lucie, FL. The family is at the home and will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service. Funeral Services will be held at Seawright Funeral Chapel, Inman, SC, at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 11th, with Rev Terry Fleming officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Beginnings United Methodist Church, 210 Rainbow Lake Road, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
