Robert L. "Bob" Bridges, age 74, of 161 Edwards Rd. went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 24th, 2009. Born in Shelby, NC, he was the son of the late Forrest and Marcella (Marshall) Bridges. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Faye (Cloninger) Bridges and was a member of Apalache Baptist Church in Greer, SC. He was retired from Crawford Co. of Greenville, SC and graduated from Appalachian State University in 1963. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Robbin Corn and her husband Keith of Campobello, SC, Rene' McAbee and her husband David of Travelers Rest, SC and a son Dean Bridges and his wife Kelly of Inman. He is survived by four brothers and two sisters and was blessed with 22 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Lake Bowen Baptist Church, at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 28th, with Dr. Michael Cloer, Rev. Brad Atkins and Rev. Eddie Cooper officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the atrium area of Lake Bowen Baptist Church, 404 Sugar Ridge Rd., Inman, SC.
Burial will be in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens, Hwy 9, Boiling Springs, SC. The family is at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Apalache Baptist Church Building Fund, 1915 Gap Creek Rd., Greer, SC 29651.
