Robert L. Anderson

Robert Lee Anderson, 68, of Spartanburg passed away July 6th 2012 at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville, SC. He was the older son of the late Harrison and Nancy Jane (West) Anderson who were from Jamestown, TN. Bob is survived by his wife Carolyn (Gregory) Anderson and younger brother Bill (Kathy, Michael and Stacey) of Nashville, TN. He is also survived by his step-children Jenny Cochran, Jeff (Jill) Cochran, grandchildren, Joel, Joseph, Jacob, Jarad, Rebecca, Michael, Leah and great grandchildren, Layla and Tripp. Bob earned his Ph.D at the University of Tennessee and was a professor there. He also taught at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va. He later accepted a position at Milliken and retired in 2006. Bob was a faithful member of Reidville Road United Methodist Church where he served as lay leader. A memorial service will be held Monday, July 9, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Reidville Road United Methodist Church. Rev. Sam Warwick, Jeff Cochran and Rev. James Ellis Griffith will officiate. A visitation will take place one hour before the service in the sanctuary.
