Richard Donald Wright

Richard Donald Wright, 71, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 in Jacksonville, Florida.

Born in Jacksonville, Florida on May 11, 1953, he was a son of the late Sarah (Collins) Wright and Herbert Royal Wright, Jr, and was also predeceased by one brother, James David Wright. 

Richard was a member of Southside Methodist Church in Jacksonville, Florida, where he was a member of the choir. Richard enjoyed bowling, swimming, and participating in the Special Olympics. He was a HUGE Florida Gators fan and LOVED Cotten's BBQ! Richard was a good brother and a loyal friend to everyone. He made everyone feel better, JUST BEING RICHARD. 

He is survived by two sisters, Darlene Long and her husband Robert of Landrum, South Carolina and Penny Westen of St. John's Florida; three brothers, Tim Wright of Mill Spring, North Carolina, Jonathan Wright of Daniel Island, South Carolina and Cary Wright and his wife Alison of Lithia, Florida, along with many nieces and nephews that he loved. 

The family will meet on Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 10:00 - 10:45 AM at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM in the Seawright Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Mr. L.J. Meyers. Burial will be in Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
