Richard Earle Parker, 69, of 157 Stribling Circle Spartanburg, passed away Friday, August 12th, at his residence. Richard was born in Spartanburg on February 7, 1947, a son of the late Louise Sparnell Parker Beaber and Roy Parker. He was the husband of Jane Parker with 45 years of marriage. He was retired from AT&T after 30 years of service and was a faithful member of River Hills Baptist Church in Moore.
He served in the U.S. Army and had attended Mars Hill College and Wofford College. Richard was a member of Pioneers of AT&T.
In addition to his wife, Jane, he is survived by a daughter, Laura Parker of Spartanburg; a son, Ryan Parker (Candi) of Simpsonville; two brothers, Dennis Parker (Sue) of Smyrna, GA, Doug Parker (Debby) of Woodstock, GA; and six grandchildren, Reid, Madie, Becca, Luke, Will, and Nellie Beth.
A memorial service will be held at River Hills Baptist Church, Moore, at 4:00 PM on Monday, August 15th, with Rev. Kent Smith officiating. The family is at the home and will receive friends Monday 2:30 until 4:00 at River Hills Baptist Church.
