Spartanburg, SC---Richard Christopher Holden, Sr, 62, of 717 Mosswood Lane Spartanburg, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013.
Richard was born in Spartanburg on April 26, 1951, a son of Ella Neil Scott Holden, of Inman and the late Thomas Walker Holden.
He was the husband of Rene Milwood Holden was a co-owner and operator of Holden's Marine.
He was a member of Arrowood Baptist Church in Chesnee where he was also the Minister of Music.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by three sons; Richard Christopher Holden, Jr of Denver, CO, Lee Thomas Holden of Spartanburg, Nicholas Scott Holden of Spartanburg; one daughter, Jamie Holden Pearson and her husband ENS Charles Todd Pearson of Spartanburg, two brothers; David Holden of Spartanburg, Tom Holden, Jr and wife Dottie of Inman, a sister; Mildred Higgins and husband Rick of Flowery Branch, GA, three grandchildren; Thomas Pearson, Reagan Pearson, Jackson Pearson, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family is at the home and will receive friends Sunday, August 25th, 2:00 until 3:00 PM at Arrowwood Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM with Rev. Daniel Godfrey and Rev. Eddie Cooper and ENS Charles T. Pearson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Arrowwood Baptist Church Choir, 1410 Hwy 11 West, Chesnee, SC 29323.
