Richard Lee Finnell

Richard Lee Finnell, 75, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023.

Born in Martin's Ferry, Ohio on September 21, 1947, he was the son of the late Dorothy Loraine (Bunting) Finnell and was the husband of the late Martha Jean (Grant) Finnell.

He was an employee of Spartanburg Medical Center and a member of First Baptist Spartanburg where he served in the Early Bird Sunday School Class.  

He is survived by one daughter, Kimberly Dawn Sawyer and her husband David of Inman, South Carolina; one son, Christopher Lee Finnell of Spartanburg, South Carolina; two grandchildren, Kathryn Wofford and her husband AArion and Robert E. Smith, III; five great grandchildren, Rylie, Dylan, Brayden, Harper, Finleigh and expecting one great grand son in February of 2024.  

In lieu of flowers, the family asked for prayers and for kindness to one another.
