Rev. Sidney Hubert Maxwell

Rev. Sidney Hubert Maxwell, 85, passed away Thursday, September 27th, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. A native of Horse Shoe, NC, he was the son of the late Sidney R. and Ella Pearl (Wingo) Maxwell and the husband of Dorothy Dickson Maxwell. He was first married to the late Dorothy Nodine Maxwell. He was a member of Inman Mills Baptist Church and had served pastorates in SC, Al, Fl, and TX. He retired from Warrior Creek Baptist Church in Gray Court, SC after ten years of service. He served three years with the Home Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention and has held various interim pastorates. He also served as the "Minister to the Homebound" at Holly Springs Baptist Church in Inman, SC.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Brenda Maxwell of Columbia, SC. He was predeceased by a sister, Katherine Allison and two brothers, Frank and Grady Maxwell.
Funeral services will be held at Inman Mills Baptist Church at 2:30PM on Sunday, September 30th, with Rev. Jack Hames, Dr. Tim Clark & Rev. Eddie Cooper officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday in the church sanctuary from 1:00 to 2:15 PM. just prior to the service. Burial will follow in Motlow Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
