Rebecca "Becky" Russell Burnette of Landrum, age 91, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, February 19, 2022.
Becky was born in Polk County, NC on August 24, 1930. She was the last family member of the late Charles and Mattie Russell. She was the widow of William Richard "WR" Burnette. Becky is survived by two daughters, Jane Burnette Culbreth (Ronnie), Kimberly Burnette Shands (Tim), grandchildren, Shannon Culbreth Jolley (Jody Massey), Chad Culbreth (Sonya), Samuel Shands and Daniel Shands. Also, she is survived by her great and great great grands, Hayden Jolley (Kaci) and their daughter, Adelyn Jolley.
Becky was very energetic, hard working, and always had a kind spirit. These characteristics contributed to her success in many business adventures. Her love for family was expressed mostly in family gatherings, in sharing her love for music, and singing those Old Gospel Songs.
She is preceded in death by her siblings, Dallie Spurlin, Katherine Clayton, William Russell, Hester McCarter, Jeanette Collins, Ruby Rogers, and Ann Hyder.
A celebration of life service will be held at Seawright Funeral Chapel in Inman at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 22, 2022 conducted by Pastor Phil Sybrant. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Private interment will be in Holston Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Inman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Piedmont Women's Center, 1143 Grove Road, Greenville, S.C. 29605.
