Raymond Lee West, 95, of 1281 Campton Rd., Inman, SC, passed away Monday, June 3, 2013 at his residence. Raymond was born in Campobello, SC on May 20, 1918, a son of the late Raleigh (Bell) and Claude Matthew West and was the widower of Mary Doris (Chapman) West. He worked as warehouse manager at the South Carolina Peach Growers Association which later became Woolfolk Chemical. He was a member of First Baptist North Spartanburg where he was an usher and a greeter, a lifetime member of the Woodmen of the World, a United States Army veteran of WWII and a member of American Legion Post #45. Raymond is survived by two daughters, Judy Gray (Richard), of Campobello; Linda West, of Inman; three sons Lamar West (Brenda) of Inman; Boyd West (Martha) of Boiling Springs; Russell West (Pam), of Boiling Springs; two sisters, Leola Senn, of Inman; Cordelia Dover, of Inman; 22 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandsons and a special sister-in-law, Aretta West of Inman. The family is at the home and will receive friends Tuesday, June 4, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist North Spartanburg at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 5th, with Dr. Michael Hamlet officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family is at his home and would like to express a special thank you to Hospice nurse, Jennifer Brown and Home Health nurse, Lisa Ally.
