Ray Dean Gaines, 71, of 7910 New Cut Road, Campobello,SC passed away Saturday, May 25th, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Gaines was born in Spartanburg on May 28, 1941, a son of the late Henry Hartwell and Jeanette Emme Fleming Gaines and was the husband of Klaudia Byers Lowe Gaines.
He had retired from peach farming and was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church.
Ray served in the U.S. Army and the National Guard during the Vietnam Conflict and was a 1959 graduate of Chapman High School. In addition to his wife Klaudia, he is survived by a step son, David Lowe ( Kelly) of Destin, FL; two sisters, Lynn Gaines Dowd (Wayne) of Prosperity, SC and Fay Gaines McKinney (Mallory) of Cordele, GA.
He was predeceased by a brother, Sammy Gaines.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held Wednesday one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holly Springs Baptist Church, 251 Hannon Road, Inman, SC 29349. An online guest register is available at: www.seawright-funeralhome.com.
