Randolph O. Strange, 75 went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday September 18, 2007 at 10:32 am, at the Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care after an extended illness.
He is a long time member of Holston Creek Baptist Church in Inman and was a 3rd degree mason with membership in the Inman Masonic Lodge.
He was born May 10, 1932 and was the son of the late A. Otis and Nellie McCarter Strange. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirley Bradley Strange. He is also survived by his sons, Terry and wife Sheila of Greer, Randy of the home, a daughter, Deborah Frady and husband Wayne of Inman. Three grandchildren, Stephen Frady of Inman, Amanda Frady Gray and husband James of Spartanburg, and Jordan Strange at USCU Campus in Spartanburg.
He is also survived by five sisters, Reba Pack of Campobello, Melvin Cox of Inman, Stella Loftis of Simpsonville, Faye Phillips of Campobello, and Shirley "Patsy" High of Inman, and one brother, William Donald Strange of Lyman. He was predeceased by two sisters, Bula Fowler and Belvie Strange and two brothers, Rev. J.B. Strange and Audie Dupree Strange.
He was retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service and the Life Insurance Company of Georgia with 20 years of service. He was also an avid farmer. The family is at the home and will receive friends tonight 7-9:00 at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman with Masonic Rites at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday at Holston Creek Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Reggie Parker and Rev. T.J. Horton. Burial with full military honors by the U.S. Air Force will follow in the church cemetery. Honorary escorts will be Michael Melton, Jerry Melton, J.D. Shipman, Chris Shipman and Nathan Human.
