Randall Andrew Ertzberger, 72, of 1060 Clark Road, Inman, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Spartanburg Medical Center.
Randy was born in Spartanburg on April 25, 1951, a son of the late Dorothy Faye Hammett Ertzberger and Henry Lee Ertzberger and was the husband of Lynn Henson Ertzberger of the home.
He retired as a lieutenant after 26 years of service with the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office. Randy was a member of Inman Mills Baptist Church where he was part of the security team and also enjoyed being a part of the men's group who prepared and fed The Breakfast for Champions to the Chapman High School Football Team each Friday morning during football season. He was instrumental in starting the Chapman High School Fishing Team and was a coach for the team of which several Inman area kids were involved. He was a member of Inman Masonic Lodge #201.
Randy loved his family and adored his grandbabies. In addition to his wife, Lynn, Randy's survivors also include; three daughters, Marci Myers and her husband Chris of Inman, Lorrie Large and her husband Jeff of Inman, Andrea Garcia of Inman, a sister, Sandra Burdette of Anderson, grandsons, Warren McCarter III (Kellyn) of Columbus, NC, Cody Large of Inman, Lyle Myers (Megan) of Boiling Springs, Austin Myers (Breanna) of Inman, his granddaughters, Ceaira Lyon (Rossie) of Inman, Mallory McCarter of Inman, his great grandchildren, Payton Lyon of Inman, Estin Randall Lyon of Inman, Elly McCarter of Columbus, NC, Luke Myers of Boiling Springs, Aubree Myers of Boiling Springs, and his dogs Ranger and Tripp which he loved and Camper who he tolerated. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by a brother, Steve Ertzberger and brother-in-law, Dale Burdette.
The family is at the home and will receive friends Friday, Feb. 16th from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home, 26 East Main Street, Inman.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 17th at Inman Mills Baptist Church in Inman with Rev. Jack Hames officiating with Rites by the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Honor Guard.
Interment in Roselawn Memorial Gardens will be private.
