Mr. Ralph M Settle, 87, of 391 Old Settle Rd. Inman passed away Friday, February 20th, 2009 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Settle was born in Spartanburg, County, SC on February 7, 1922, the son of the late Huber Hollins and Maggie Louise (Edwards) Settle.

He was the husband of Ruby (Ellison) Settle who survives him.
He is survived by 2 sisters: Betty Tomlinson and husband Albert of Spartanburg, Mary Louise Raines and husband Gerald of Inman, 2 brothers: David C Settle and wife Ramona of Inman, Sam S Settle and wife Patricia of Fletcher, NC, and sister-in-law: Jean Q Settle of Inman. He was predeceased by 2 brothers: Woodrow Settle and Hubert H Settle.
He retired from the US Postal Service and was a retired farmer.

He was a member of Inman First Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Army in WW II. Mr Settle was the former director of Farm Credit, director of Broad River Electric Cooperative, director of Saluda River Electric Cooperative, a member of the Inman American Legion Post #45, and a graduate of Inman High School.

The family is at the home of a brother: David C Settle, 1360 Settle Road, Inman and will receive friends today, February 22, 2009 from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM in the atrium of Inman First Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow in the church at 3 :00 PM conducted by Dr. Paul Moore.

Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Inman, SC.
