Rachel Anderson Painter, 94, of 1211 Sugar Ridge Road passed away Thursday, February 16th, 2017 at her home. Mrs. Painter was born in Inman, S.C. on January 5, 1923, a daughter of the late Elbert Warren and Pearl Ann Foster Anderson. She was the widow of Jess Painter, D. K. Renfro and John H. Gilbert. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church and had retired from the Inman Mills Saybrook Plant.
She is survived by four sons, John Renfro and his wife Esther, Ray Renfro and his wife Barbara, Tommy Gilbert, Henry Gilbert and his wife Barbara, three daughters: Jane Smith and her husband Danny, Betty Chalk and her husband Bill, and Becky Griffin and her husband Billy. There are fifteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Ellen "Sue" Gilbert, a great grandson, Easton Stanford and an infant daughter.
The family is at the home and will receive friends Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman, SC. Funeral services will be follow at 3:00 PM in the Seawright Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Beryl Wyatt. The burial will be in the Victory Baptist Church Cemetery.
