Pierce Stockam

Boiling Springs, SC---Mr. Pierce Buckie Stockam, 82, of 256 Robert Mason Circle, Boiling Springs, SC, but formerly of 231 Sivell Rd., LaGrange, GA went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 1, 2013.

Born in Bixby, Oklahoma on December 13, 1930, he was the son of the late Ada (Hardee) and Charles Reno Stockam and was the husband of the late Mrs. Eula Jo Stockam.

Mr. Stockam was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during the Korean War and was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church in LaGrange, GA where he served as a Deacon and also as a Sunday School teacher. During his employment, he worked for Stran Steel in LaGrange as a welder and also for Visqueen where he worked as a supervisor.

He is survived by two daughters, Carol Cofield and husband David of Five Points, AL and Rhonda Funderburk and husband Bill of Boiling Springs, SC; two sisters, Adell Martin and Zita Compton; two brothers, Calvin Stockam and Dale Stockam along with four grandchildren, Brian Cofield of Roanoke, AL, Lisa Cofield of Five Points, AL and Maggie Funderburk and Anda Funderburk both of Boiling Springs, SC and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, Nobel, Grand, Joe and Gale Stockam and two sisters, Joy Bivens and Jerry Stockam.

Funeral services will be held at United Methodist Church of the Covenant at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 3rd, with Rev. Dan Blair officiating.

Cryptside services with Military Honors will be held at Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange, GA on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dan Blair Officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to: Salkehatchie Summer Service, 9020 Asheville Hwy. Spartanburg, SC 29316. The family will be at the home of Bill and Rhonda Funderburk. An online guest register is available at www.seawright-funeralhome.com.
