Phyllis Edwards Melton, 67, of Campobello passed away Sunday, February 13th, at her residence following an extended illness.
Phyllis was born in Spartanburg on January 28, 1955, a daughter of the late Estern Virginia Pruitt Miller and Glenn Allen Edwards, Sr. She was the wife of Furman Melton.
Phyllis had worked as a medical secretary and was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church where she also served as a Sunday School Teacher.
In addition to her husband, Phyllis is also survived by two daughters; Tiffany Danielle Wood and her husband, Josh of Spartanburg, Amber Nicole Edmonds and her husband, James of Inman, a brother; Glenn Allen Edwards, Jr and his wife, Natalia of Spartanburg, a sister; Baranda Murray and her husband, Dale of Mt. Pleasant, N.C., and four grandchildren; Daniel Wood, Anthony Wood, Annagrace Wood, and Autumn Edmonds. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her step father, Floyd Miller.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 16th with Rev Matthew Bishop officiating at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.
