Phillip Kary Skinner, 67, of 211 Fury Drive, Inman passed away Wednesday, January 1st, at Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg.
He was born in Spartanburg on December 1, 1946, a son of Geraldine Waldrop Skinner, of Inman and the late Junior Alvin Skinner. He was the husband of Barbara "Jo" Beatty Skinner and was the owner and operator of Kary Skinner Plumbing.
He was a 1965 graduate of Chapman High School where he excelled in football and baseball; was a member of First Baptist Church of North Spartanburg; and a former coach for Inman Post 45 American Legion Baseball. He had also served in the Army National Guard in Inman. He enjoyed golfing with his friends and was a two time club champion at Village Greens Golf Course in Inman.
He is survived by a daughter, Tonya Sisk of Spartanburg; four brothers, Gary Skinner of Holly Springs, Steve Skinner of Inman, Danny Skinner of Holly Springs, Roger Skinner of Boiling Springs; four grandchildren, Savannah, Sara, Isaac, Isabella; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a daughter, Jamie Ryan.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends Saturday 10:00am until 11:00am at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Seawright Funeral Chapel at 11:00am on Saturday with Rev. Jan King officiating. Burial will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park.
