Phillip Otto Marlow
Phillip Otto Marlow, 68, of 432 Coggins Shore Road, Inman, SC, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2016 at the Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Landrum. Phillip was born in Perry, GA on September 28, 1948, a son of Mary (Pope) Marlow and Glenn Cyril Marlow, of Inman. He was the husband of Rita (Hyatt) Marlow, worked as a diesel mechanic and was a member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church. Phillip was also a member of the Spartanburg Beekeepers Association and was a former member of the New Prospect Volunteer Fire Department. In addition to his wife and parents, Phillip is survived by a son, Kevin Marlow (Angie), of Mt Holly, NC., a brother, David Leon Marlow (Darlene), of Spartanburg and one grandson Austin Marlow. He was predeceased by a sister, Cindy Marlow Groves. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Vietnam War Era. The family is at the home and will receive friends Thursday 1 :00 — 2:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at the Seawright Funeral Chapel at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 13th with Rev. Mike Hardeman and Rev. Ansel Norris officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Greer, SC. Members of the New Prospect Volunteer Fire Department and the Spartanburg Beekeepers Association will serve as active and honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties Inc., P0 Box 1582, Spartanburg, SC 29304 or Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 260 Fairwinds Rd, Landrum, SC 29356.
