Philip Gregg Turner, 65, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Spartanburg Medical Center. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by his sudden death.
Born in Spartanburg on August 31, 1960, he was the son of the late Geraldine (Taylor) Turner and David E. Turner, Jr.
Gregg was a member of First Baptist North Spartanburg, a graduate of Dorman High School and attended Griffin Technical College in Griffin, Georgia. He studied landscaping and grounds keeping where he developed a strong love of the outdoors, always seeing the beauty in trees, flowers and grasses. He had previously worked for Duke Power, Lowe's Home Improvement and most recently Amazon Fulfillment Center before his health began to decline. He will be remembered for all the friendships he built throughout his life.
He is survived by his loving sister, Pam Benedict of Wellford, South Carolina, along with an uncle, several aunts and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Remains Youth Ranch, 1771 John Dodd Road, Wellford, SC 29385.
