Perry LaFoy Crain
Perry LaFoy Crain, 74, of 295 E. Pearl St., passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. A native of Spartanburg, SC, Perry was born on October 18, 1940 and was a son of the late LaFoy James and Edna Earl Hines Crain. He was the grandson of his late maternal grandparents, Robert V. and Grace Hines and late paternal grandparents,Charlie Crain and Lettie Childs Crain Dupree. Perry had retired from Willard Oil Company and was of the baptist faith. He was also a Boy Scout and achieved the rank of "Life". Perry was a graduate of Fairforest High School.
Perry was a very kind, loving and generous man who never met a stranger. He was always willing to help someone in need. He would give them his last dime if he felt they needed help. His generosity was taken advantage of at times by people who claimed to be friends but were certainly not. He did indeed have a multitude of true friends who would be with him through good times and bad. He liked going to the beach and loved fishing. Perry loved his family and was said to have lived life to the fullest. Mr. Crain is survived by two brothers: Robert Crain (Brenda) of Inman, SC and Mike Crain (Laurie) of Elk Grove, California. He is also survived by his former wife, Ann Jackson of Una, SC. Mr. Crain was predeceased by a brother, Roger Dale Crain. The families are at their respective homes and will receive friends Saturday, August 29, 2015 from 12:00 noon until 1:45 PM at Seawright Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Spartanburg, SC conducted by Rev Tommy Parker.
