Mrs. Peggy Gowan O'Brien, 79, of 2780 East Main Street, Spartanburg formerly of 221 Longhorn Drive, Chesnee passed away Tuesday, June 1st, 2010 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center
Mrs. O'Brien was born in Inman, SC on April 1, 1931, the daughter of the late Clarence H and Ethel (Freeman) Gowan and was the widow of Phillip Vincent O'Brien.
She is survived by 1 daughter: Betsy Gardner Moon and husband Stan of Spartanburg, 1 sister: Betty G Burris and husband Lane of Spartanburg, 1 brother: Maxie E Gowan and wife Jane of Inman, 1 grandson: Stanley Moon, II of Spartanburg and 1 great-granddaughter Danielle Moon of Spartanburg.
She retired from teaching after 42 years and was a member of St Paul's Catholic Church
Graveside services will be held at Rose1awn Memorial Gardens, Inman, SC, at 11:30 AM on Thursday, June 3rd, with Father Gahn and Rev Preston Edmonds officiating.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends at Rose1awn Memorial Gardens following the service:
