Pauline "Polly" Waddell Peace, 87, formerly of 16 5th Street, passed away Monday, June 11, 2018, at Magnolia Manor of Inman. Polly was born in Polk County, North Carolina on June 18, 1930, a daughter of the late Otis Waddell and Dora Poole Waddell. She was the widow of Dewey Nathan Peace. Mrs Peace was a retired employee of Inman Mills Saybrook Plant and a former employee with Inman First Baptist Church Daycare. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, a member of the Susannah Bible Sunday School Class and a member of the United Methodist Women's group.
Polly is survived by two daughters, Darlene Peace Tucker and her husband, Yancy of Inman, South Carolina; Glenda Peace Hutchins and her husband, Ricky of Landrum, South Carolina; six grandchildren, Tracy Tucker Price and her husband, Kevin; Gena Sewell Corbitt and her husband, Zach; John Nathan Sewell and his wife, Benita; Scott Eugene Sewell and his wife, Jenny; Tyler Wayne Pennington and his wife, Kimberley; Larra Tucker Guffey and her husband, Daniel; and twelve great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by five sisters, Carrie McFalls, of Tryon, North Carolina; Louise Roper and husband, James of Rutherfordton, North Carolina; Brenda Gilbert and husband, Gary of Campobello, South Carolina; Deborah Bohanon and husband Larry of Satsuma, Florida; Ann Searcy and husband, Milo of Mill Spring, North Carolina
two brothers, Otis Waddell, Jr. and wife Darlene of Nebo, North Carolina; Larry Waddell and wife, Cathy of Mill Spring, North Carolina; a special niece, Sherry Carroll and husband, Johnny.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Peace was predeceased by a daughter, Sandy Peace Sewell and a sister, Evelyn McFalls.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:45 PM on Thursday, June 14, 2018, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM on Thursday, June 14, 2018, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Gary Byrd. Interment will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
The families are at their respective homes. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Homestead Hospice Greenville, Building 1A, 109 Laurens Road, Greenville, South Carolina 29607.
