Paul Leonard Pettit, Jr, 59, husband of Cindy Christopher Pettit of 1401 Compton Bridge Road, Inman died Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born August 10, 1960 in Cowpens, he was a son of the late Paul Leonard and Irene Duckett Pettit.
Paul was the co-owner of Main Street Loans in Inman, earned his Ph.D. in Theology, a gunsmith, was an avid Gamecock fan, and had formerly played football at the University of South Carolina. Paul spent several years in law enforcement and was one of the first members of of the traffic task force with Spartanburg County Sheriff's Department implemented by former Sheriff Larry Smith.
Other survivors include two daughters; Kori Pettit of Gaffney, Molly Grace Brady of Spartanburg; a son, Daniel Brady of Spartanburg; three sisters; Carolyn Bell (Buster) of Spartanburg, Mildred Davis (Chuck) of Mayo, Paulette Bridges (Shaun) of Cowpens, three grandchildren; Nicholas Pettit, Isabella Pettit, Landon Owens, one great grandchild; Ava Pettit, his mother in law; Dinkey Christopher, sister in law; Kim Hendrick, brother in law; Bobby Christopher (Donna), brother in law, Keith Christopher (Heather), nephews; Steven Hendrick (Julie), Hunter, Kolby, Hayden, and Ryan Christopher; one great niece; Ava Hendrick, and one great nephew; William Hendrick.

The family is at 2840 Compton Bridge Road, Campobello and will receive friends 3:00 until 5:00 Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Seawright Funeral Home. Other services will be private.
