Blacksburg, SC--Mr. Paul Laython Melton, 77, of 109 Temple Lane went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 27th, 2011.
Born in Rutherfordton, NC on October 22, 1934, he was the son of the late Vosco Adam Melton and Dessie (White) Melton McKellar. He was the husband of the late Maurine (Howe) Melton who was his best friend and loving wife of 40 years.
Mr. Melton was the owner/operator of Pizza Inn in Gaffney, Union and also Greer from 1971-1996. His wife served as the hostess at the Gaffney location where many loved her and knew her as "Rennie Melton". Mr. Melton served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the Inman Presbyterian Church and the Boiling Springs Masonic Lodge #413.
He is survived by a daughter, Paulette M. Inman and her husband David of Blacksburg, a grandson, Brad Bailey of Blacksburg, two granddaughters, Brooke Bailey of Blacksburg and Monica Inman of Cowpens, one great granddaughter, Leana Inman of Cowpens. He is also survived by three brothers, Larry McKellar and his wife Linda, Jack McKellar and his wife Jan and Steve McKellar and his wife Billie Ann along with two sisters, Ruth Candler and her husband Bud and Louise Baldwin and her husband Freddie.
Graveside services with Masonic Rites and Military Honors will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Spartanburg, today, Saturday October 29, 2011 at 3:00PM with Rev. Eric Sellars and Rev. Jay Clever officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Mr. Brad Bailey, Mr. Johnny Bailey, Mr. Alex Bailey, Mr. Jason Rhodes and Mr. Russell Moss.
