Tryon, NC --- Mr. Paul E. McIntosh, 86, of White Oak Manor passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, July 5, 2015.
Paul McIntosh, a native of Miami, Oklahoma, married Carol Massie, also of Miami, Oklahoma in 1949. They were married for 62 wonderful years during which Paul's career took them from Miami Oklahoma to Lima, Peru; Tehran, Iran; Guadalajara, Mexico; Akron, Ohio; finally retiring in Landrum, South Carolina. Carol McIntosh passed away in 2011 in Landrum SC.
Paul was deeply loved by his family and was held in the highest regard as a nurturing and selfless role model, a hopeless romantic and dignified gentleman; always the eternal optimist. He taught us how to live, love, and celebrate life through his own example. He was the hero of our fairy tale.
All of those who crossed his path knew him as a sweet, honorable, fair man, who could always make a stranger laugh, feel welcome and comfortable. He had a passion for all sports on all levels, but a real love for the Atlanta Braves.
In celebration of his life, we are all comforted in knowing that "He finally got his grand slam".
He is survived by his sister, Dixie Witte of Tulsa, Oklahoma; daughters and son-in-laws Carolyn and Dean Carroll of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Janet and Steve Moore of Attica, Kansas; and Jean and Joe Capel of Landrum, South Carolina.
Seven grandchildren: Christine Papp, Colene Goss, Ashley Miller, Matt Black, Carey Black, Stephen Black, Andrea McClure, eleven great grandchildren; and his late in life loving companion, Jean Masologites.
The celebration of his life was lived each and every day while Paul was alive; it is his wish that no formal services be held.
A special thank you from our family to the wonderful, compassionate staff of White Oak Manor in Tryon, NC and the support staff of Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
