Paul Green, 99, of 338 Wittenberg Way, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017, at his residence. Paul was born in Asheville, North Carolina, on November 15, 1917, a son of the late William Henry Green and Minta Hensley Green. He was the widower of Evelyn Chambers Green. Mr. Green was a Retired Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army, having served in the South Pacific during WWII. He was a 1938 Graduate of North Carolina State University, a member of the Wolfpack Club, a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers and a retired engineer from American Enka Corporation. Mr. Green is survived by a daughter, Judy Rhodes and her husband, David of Boiling Springs, South Carolina; a son, Michael Green and his wife, Carol of Taylors, South Carolina; a sister, Ivalee Rhymer, of Tryon, North Carolina; a grandson, Ted Gordon and his wife, Tammy; two step-grandsons, Jeff Rhodes and Kevin Rhodes; a great-granddaughter, Colby Blackwell; a great-grandson, Will Gordon; a step-great-grandson, Killian Rhodes and a great-great-granddaughter, Edie Blackwell. A graveside service will be held at Calvary Episcopal Church in Fletcher, North Carolina. The families are at their respective homes.
