Pamela “Joan” Taylor Mahaffey, 74, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on June 3, 2026. A faithful and devoted member of Cross Hill Community Church for over 20 years, Joan served the Lord with her devoted husband Hiley Mahaffey until his passing in March 2024. Joan was born in Woodruff SC and was the daughter of the late Jonas A Taylor Jr. and Doris Acton Taylor.
Joan is survived by her daughters Heidi Cole, Pam Babb (Bobby), Angela Lee (Boyce) and her son Scott Emory (Edie). Joan was Nana to 7 grandchildren, Josh Mabry, Justin Mabry (Tanda), Jonathan Mabry (Cheyenne), Taylor Lee (Juwan), Morgan Lee (David), Jonas Babb and Philip Emory and 10 great-grandchildren and her lifelong friend Sandra Crocker-Ridings; her sister Sharon Oleskiewicz; 5 nephews and 1 niece and her 4 legged baby Sadie.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her sister Teresa Sims and her brother Terry Taylor.
Joan was a member of a music ministry, 2-R-More for 21 years.
The family will receive friends at Inman First Free Will Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 from 1:30-2:45 PM. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM in the Church with Rev. Sean Fortner and Rev. Johnny Guffey officiating. Burial will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park in Boiling Springs, South Carolina.
Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Mabry, Jonas Babb, Jarred Sims, Jeremy Taylor, Philip Emory and Joshua Sutherland.

A special thanks and appreciation to Pelham Medical Staff ER and 4th Floor, Spartanburg Regional ER, Trauma ICU, ICU, Heart Center Staff 4th Floor, 7th Floor Tower, CCU, Prisma Health Greer ER and 4th Floor, Rosecrest CNA and Rehab Staff, Brushy Creek, Brian Alford and Dr. James Norris and Staff. You all took such good care and concern with Mommy and we thank you.
