Ornan Fowler Bishop, 82, of 539 Honeysuckle Road Spartanburg passed away Friday, May 4th, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Spring Creek, N.C. on April 17, 1930, a daughter of the late Mildred Riddle and Otis Fowler. She was the wife of Grady Oliver Bishop Jr. for over 63 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Harvest Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Melissia Bishop Carter and husband Jeffrey, a son, Dennis Bishop and Debbie Robinson, grandchildren, Anthony Bishop and wife Natalie, James Bishop, David Bishop and Mary McCombs, Angel Bishop and David Hammitt, Caleb Bishop, Ronnie Carter, six great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, sisters, Annie Mae Stamey of Swananoa, NC Winnie Caldwell and husband Troy of Spring Creek, NC, Kathleen Treadway and husband Jimmie of Swananoa, NC, Margaret McCarter and husband Ray of Rutherford, NC, a brother. Elbert Fowler and wife Polly of Marshall, NC, and adopted sister Nina Wells and husband Loyd of Hot Springs, SC. She was predeceased by brothers, RK Fowler, James Fowler, and Clayton Fowler.
The family is at the home and will receive friends today, Sunday 2:00-3:00 at Good Shepherd Memorial Park in Boiling Springs.
Graveside services will follow at 3:00pm today with Pastor Chuck Thornton officiating.
