Olin Dennis Weathers
Olin Dennis Weathers, 73, of 44 North Howard Street, Inman died quietly at his home on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 after a brief illness. Born on October 14, 1934 the son of the late Fletcher and Pearl (Harvey) Weathers. He was a graduate of Boiling Springs High School and also served in the United States Naval Reserve. In 1955 he married the love of his life, Peggy Jean Campbell. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2005 and now waits for him in heaven since losing her battle to cancer on October 18, 2006.
He is survived by his daughter Jeanna Burns and grandson, Thomas Schneiter, both of Indianapolis, Indiana and almost daughter, Nancy Bernard, of Spartanburg.
He retired from Norfolk Southern Railway (Southern Shops) as an electrician. He was a loafing expert who loved to ride motorcycles, always stopping to smell the roses. A different man in his later life, his gentle strength will be missed.
A graveside service will be held today, Friday, April 4, 2008 at 11 AM at Roselawn Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Kenny McDowell.
In memory of his cat Charlie, memorial donations maybe made to the Spartanburg Animal Shelter and Humane Society, 150 Dexter Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29301.
