Inman, SC---Mr. Olin Durham Blackwell, 83, of 5530 New Cut Rd. Inman, SC, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 4, 2014.
Born in Inman, SC on April 18, 1931, he was the son of the late Edd F. and Annie (Ravan) Blackwell and was the husband of the late Mrs. Martha (Dempsey) Blackwell.
Mr. Blackwell was a graduate of Clemson University, Class of 1954 and served in the United States Army from 1955-1957. Olin was a retired peach grower, and a member of Holston Creek Baptist Church where he was a member of the Jim Metcalf Sunday School Class and was the Class Treasurer for 38 years.
He is survived by one daughter, Rhonda Levy (Ronald) of Brooklyn, NY; one son, Mark Bradley (Peggy) of Kannapolis, NC; three sisters, Gladys Blackwell, Thelma Camp and Lula Mae Atkins all of Inman, SC along with four grandchildren, Steven Levy, Andrew Levy, Shawn Bradley and Derek Bradley and six great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 6, 2014 from 6-8PM at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Holston Creek Baptist Church in Inman, SC, at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 7th, with Dr. Reggie Parker and Rev. Donnan Lawson officiating. Honorary escorts will be members of the Jim Metcalf Sunday School Class. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holston Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 311 Holston Creek Church Rd., Inman, SC 29349. The family is at the home.
