Inman, SC-- Norman Harry Fariss, 82, of 160 Chestnut Lake Dr. died at home under the care of his loving family and Lutheran Hospice and graduated from the school of life and received his diploma from Jesus on Wednesday, August 31, 2016. Born in Kentland, Indiana on December 13, 1933, a son of the late Hazel (Fariss) Lindall and Thurman Keown and was later adopted and raised by Fielden Fariss. He was the loving husband of Donna Jean (Fletcher) Fariss having celebrated 62 years of marriage. Mr. Fariss served in the United States Army, retired from RR Donnelley after many years of service and had a love of working with gourds and was also a member of the American Gourds Society.
In addition to his loving wife Donna, he is survived by a daughter, Kim Taylor and husband Allen; a granddaughter, Amber Taylor Holder and husband Devon; a grandson, Chad Taylor; a granddaughter, Kaydee Beth Taylor all of Boiling Springs, SC; and Teresa Hill, whom he thought of as a granddaughter; a sister, Beatrice Bullington and husband Dean of Delphi, Indiana; two brother-in-laws, Charles Fletcher and Gene Fletcher and three sister-in-laws, Mary Sharpf, Jolyne Martin and Faith Ann Redding. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a sister, Betty Hall and a brother-in-law, Robert Fletcher and a sister-in-law Patricia Westwood.
The family will receive friends at Seawright Funeral Home on Monday, September 12, 2016 from 2:00 - 2:45 PM. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM in the Seawright Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Kevin Hill and Mr. Devon Holder officiating.
