Nellie Mae Yelton, 88, of 221 Mt. Lebanon Rd. Inman, passed away Friday, April 30, 2021 at Spartanburg Medical Center.
Nellie was born in Inman on April 16, 1933, a daughter of the late Mattie Ila Blackwell Johnson and Bert Hampton Johnson and was the widow of William Yelton.
She was a homemaker and was a member of Holston Creek Baptist Church where she had also been a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class.
She is survived by a son, Andrew "Andy" Yelton (Anne) of the home, a brother, Rev. J.B. Godfrey of Chattanooga, TN, and a sister, Joyce Ayers of Landrum. She was also predeceased by a son, William Ray Yelton, a brother, Joe Johnson, and two sisters, Faye Bowers and Sybil Howell.
Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM on Monday, May 3rd at Seawright Funeral Chapel with Rev. J.B. Godfrey and Mr. Lewis Burrell officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holston Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 311 Holston Creek Road, Inman, SC 29349.
