Nellie Frances (Henson) Hughes, 96, died Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at her home in Inman, SC. Born in Fort Payne, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late John Clifford and Gertrude ( McSpadden) Henson and was the widow of Thomas Claude Hughes. She was a member of Benham United Methodist Church in Benham, Ky and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Hughes is survived by two sons, Pastor William "Bill" Clifford Hughes, Waynard Ray Hughes, two daughters, Dorothy Marie Elliott, Patricia Ann Huffman and her husband Ed , three sisters, Clara Clark, Clarcie Jeffries, and Christine Poppewell. There are 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
Graveside services are to be held on Friday, June 6, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Benham Cemetery conducted by her son, Pastor Bill Hughes. Tri-City Funeral Home in Benham, Ky is in charge of arrangements there. No viewing or services will be held here in SC.
