Nancy Spivey Turner

Nancy Spivey Turner, 83, of Wanda Ann Lane in Inman, South Carolina, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at her residence.

Nancy was born in Hemingway, South Carolina on August 14, 1942, a daughter of the late Mildred Gaskins Spivey and Henry Edward Spivey and was the widow of Myers Turner Sr.

She graduated from Hemingway High School, then Limestone College with a degree in Elementary Education, followed by Converse College with a master's in education.

She retired from teaching school, primarily at O.P. Earle Elementary for most of her career.

Nancy won many beauty crowns through the years, including, Miss Hemingway, Miss Lake City, and Miss Darlington 500. As beautiful as she was, her inner beauty far surpassed her outward appearance. She was a member of Inman First Baptist Church and loved to garden, with beautiful rose gardens and flowers; and cherished the time she spent with family and friends at her other home in Seabrook Island.

Her survivors include two daughters; Millie Wyse (Jody) of Inman, Myra Lawson (Hal) of Wellford, a son; Myers Turner, Jr (Nicole) of Piedmont, six grandchildren; Elise W. Furness (Phil), Claire W. Medley (Brandon), Mandy Turner-Bramlett (Lance), Mitchel Turner (Autumn), Conner Lawson (Kinsley), Parker Lawson (Reagan), 3 great grandchildren, and her fur babies, Angel and GiGi.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, April 26th at Inman First Baptist Church in Inman with Rev. Jeremiah Childers officiating. The family is at the home and will receive friends Sunday, 2:00 until 3:00 in the church atrium.

Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman.
