Mrs. Nancy Ann Elder Burgess, 63, of 425 South Church Street, Spartanburg passed away Monday, September 28th, 2009 at her residence.
Mrs. Burgess was born in Mecklenburg County, NC on April 26, 1946, the daughter of the late Clara Mae Elder. She was the widow of Vance Lee Burgess, Sr. She retired from J.P. Stevens Co and was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church.
She is survived by 1 daughter: Amy Lynn Aiken of Duncan, 1 son: Vance Burgess, Jr. and wife Melissa of Inman, 2 sisters: Elizabeth Jenkins, Alice Tinsley, 2 brothers: Walter Elder, Clarence Elder all of Spartanburg, 4 grandchildren: Jeffrey Aiken, Jr., Shea Pryor, Brandon Aiken and Jordan Burgess.
The family is at the home of her daughter: 123 Johnson St, Duncan and will receive friends Wednesday 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at Holly Springs Baptist Church, Inman, SC, at 3:00 PM on Thursday, October 1, 2009 with Dr. Tim Clark and Rev Jess Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Inman, SC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
