Myrtle "Mae" Melton

In the early morning, January 31, 2024, surrounded by her family, Mae met her Jesus face to face. Mae was born May 24, 1939 to late Ernest and Mary Ayers Moore. She was the wife of the late Glenn V. Melton. She was a faithful member of Holston Creek Baptist Church, where she was a devoted servant in many roles. She retired from Inman Mills. She is survived by her daughter Glenda Gilbert (Alvin), her son Bruce Melton, two granddaughters that she adored Dr. Leslie Gilbert and Bella Melton and her brother Gerald Moore (Amelia). She was predeceased by her son Keith L. Melton, her sisters Mattie Human, Betty Jolley, Agnes Chapman and Elizabeth Terry and a brother Robert Moore.

The family is at the home of her daughter.

The family would like to thank the staff of Magnolia Manor of Inman for the compassion and care they showed to our loving mother during her stay.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holston Creek Baptist Church 311 Holston Creek Church Rd. Inman, S.C. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Holston Creek Baptist Church from 10:00 until 10:45 AM. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM  with Rev. Barry Neely officiating.

Burial will be in  Roselawn Memorial Gardens Inman, SC. 

Pallbearers Landon Cartee, Chandler Cartee, Travis Barnwell, Kain Barnwell, Elton Chapman, and Harold Chapman.
