Mrs Myrtle Alverson

Mrs Myrtle Culbreth Alverson, 88, of 82 North Main Street ,Inman, formerly of 9530 Hwy 9, Campobello passed away Saturday, December 15th, 2007 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, after a brief illness.

Mrs Alverson was born in Spartanburg County on December 20, 1918, the daughter of the late W H "Bub" and Nellie (Weaver) Culbreth. She was raised in Polk County, NC
She is survived by two daughters: Sandra Pittman of Green Creek, Nancy Sutton of Pacolet, one son: Don Alverson of Inman, one sister: Ruby Cothran of New Prospect, one brother: Bill Culbreth of Landrum, 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister: Mae Calvert.
She was the widow of John Hamilton Alverson, retired from Krispy Kreme and a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at New Prospect Baptist Church, Inman, SC, at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 16th, with Dr. Ron Gaddy officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Lee Alverson, Chris Pittman, Ian Sutton, Ronnie Atkins, Chad Wagner and Bryan Gosnell.

Burial will be in New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family is at the home of her son Don, 250 Blackstock Road, Inman and will receive friends Sunday 1-2 PM. at New Prospect Baptist Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Joy Club, New Prospect Baptist Church, 9321 Hwy 9 Inman, SC 29349.
