Miriam Penland Stone, 80, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, August 7th, 2014 at her home.
Mrs. Stone was born in Inman, S.C. on October 30, 1933 and was a daughter of the late Grace (Fisher) and Vernon Penland. She was the widow of the late Joe Stone. She had retired from Community Cash and was a longtime member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. She also was a member of the United Methodist Women, the Sussanah Bible Class, Order of the Eastern Star and the American Legion Post # 45 Auxiliary.
She is survived by a daughter, Janet Jackson and her husband Tony of Little Mtn., SC, five sisters, Betty Ravan of Inman, Louise Brown of Greer, SC, Carolyn Albright (Terry) of Spartanburg, SC, Diane Wyatt (Roger) and Brenda Cantrell both of Inman.There are two grandchildren, Clint Jackson (Shellie), Lindsay Reeves (Josh) and two great grandchildren, Presslie & Savannah Jackson. She was predeceased by two brothers, Robert & Haskell Penland. She is also survived by her special friend, Randall Bishop.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM , Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Byrd officiating.The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:30 to 3:00 PM in the sanctuary. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be David and Brent Rowe, Roger and David Ravan, Timothy Cantrell and Terry Darnell. The family will be at the home.
