Mrs. Miriam G. Mills Pruitt, 85, of 768 Jackson Road West, Chesterfield passed to the Lord Friday, August 17th, 2007 at Chesterfield General Hospital

Mrs. Pruitt was born in Greenville County, SC on July 7, 1922 the daughter of the late James Landrum and Mary Ann Goode Mills.

She was the widow of Jess Landrum Pruitt, retired from Beaumont Mills and was a member of Gramling United Methodist Church, Gramling, SC.
Survivors include a son: David Dean Pruitt and wife Barbara of Chesterfield, SC, three grandchildren, and four great, grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son: Wayne Landrum Pruitt. She was blessed with two families, deceased sisters: Lois McGill, Winnie Simpson and Mildred Melton. Deceased brothers: Carnell, Broadus, Odell, Thomas and Dewey Mills; R.T., J.B., and Albert Smith. Surviving sisters are Ellen Ramsey, Vernell Smith, Sara Cook, Lucille Lamm, and Doris Huffman. Surviving brothers are Allen, Wayne, and Rev. Ansel Smith.

Funeral services will be held at the Seawright Funeral Chapel, Inman, SC, at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 19th, with Rev. Ansel Smith officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Inman, SC.

The family will receive friends Sunday 1-2 PM at Seawright Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gibbs Cancer Center, 101 East Wood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302 or Hospice of Chesterfield County, Chesterfield, SC 29709.
