Mrs. Mildred Ruby Parnell Steadman, 90, of 13 Brock Street, Inman passed away Tuesday, February 12th, 2008 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, Spartanburg, SC.
Mrs. Steadman was born in Columbia, SC on August 6, 1917, the daughter of the late Columbus Fulton and Gladys (Brown) Parnell and was the widow of Howard William "Whitey" Steadman, Sr.
Survivors include two daughters; Carolyn Jackson Turner of Spartanburg, Sharon S. Green of Spartanburg, four sons: Howard William Steadman, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Joe Parnell Steadman of Inman, Jerry Steadman of Inman, Tim Steadman of Spartanburg, one brother: Ralph Parnell of Spartanburg, four sisters: Rebecca Christmas of Georgia, Lorene Howsey of Spartanburg, Teresa Smith of Georgia, Gladys Morse of Columbia, SC, 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren.
She retired from Abbott Laboratories and was a member of First Baptist Church of North Spartanburg.
Funeral services will be held at Seawright Funeral Chapel, Inman, SC, at 4:00 PM on Thursday, February 14th, with Dr. Paul Moore officiating.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Spartanburg, SC.
The family is at the home and will receive friends Thursday 3-4 PM. at Seawright Funeral Home.
