Mildred Hill Nuckols, 94, died on September 14, 2018 at Spartanburg Regional Hospital. She was born on January 24, 1924, a daughter of the late Frank H. and Mildred D. Hill of Blacksburg, Virginia. In addition to her parents, Mildred was predeceased by her brothers, Robert L. Hill and Frank H. Hill, Jr.
Mildred is survived by two daughters, Ann "Penny" Holt (Arthur) and Lynn Roberson (Ron); three grandchildren, Hillary Holt, John Holt, and Ana Kellett; 4 great grandchildren, a sister in law, Norma Hill; one niece and three nephews. She is also survived by her unofficially adopted daughter, Bernice Bailey, whom the family would like to thank for the love and care she has given Mildred these past twelve months.
Mildred retired as the manager of a student dining hall at Virginia Tech in the late 1980's and moved to South Carolina to be near her children and grandchildren. She was an active member and elder at Inman Presbyterian Church and a dedicated Christian. Mildred had also been a volunteer for Mobile Meals and enjoyed visiting her friends and shut ins at the nursing homes.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Inman Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev. Beth Haskins and Rev. Arthur Holt. The family will greet friends Wednesday 12:00 until 12:45 in the social hall of Inman Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in Good Shepherd Memorial Park.
