Mrs. Mildred Smith Melton, 86, of 104 Dillon Drive, Spartanburg died Thursday, June 21st, 2007 at Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg.
A native of Greenville County, she was born on April 8, 1921 and was a daughter of the late Frank Smith and Annie Mae Hassie. She was a member of Holston Creek Baptist Church and was retired from Spartan Undies. She was the widow of James Floyd Melton.
She is survived by a daughter, Ann Brooks a son, Roger Melton, three brothers, Allen Smith, Ansel Smith, Wayne Smith, six sisters, Ellen Ramsey, Myrom Pruitt, Lucille Lamm, Doris Huffman, Jewel Vern Smith, Sara Cook, three grandchildren, Todd Brooks, Angie Fegan, Jeff Melton, and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman at 11 :00 am on Saturday, June 23rd, conducted by Rev. Reggie Parker and her brother, Rev. Ansel Smith. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home of her daughter at 340 Aunt Carrie Place, Wellford and will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
