Mildred Alexander Davis, 95, formerly of Fairforest, South Carolina, passed away Monday, October 31, 2016, at Inman Healthcare. Mrs. Davis was born on May 3, 1921, a daughter of the late Myles Melvin Alexander and Mattie Gentry Alexander. She was the widow of William Thurman Davis.
She was a retired dietitian with Spartanburg County School District Six and was a member of Fairforest Baptist church, where she was a former Sunday School teacher and choir member.
Mrs. Davis is survived by a daughter, Elaine Blackwell, of Spartanburg, South Carolina; two sons William Alex Davis and his wife, Karen, of Inman, South Carolina; Charles C. Davis and his wife, Barbara, of Spartanburg, South Carolina; a brother, Gentry Alexander and his wife, Kay, of Fairforest, South Carolina; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, one sister and one grandchild.
Visitation will be held, Saturday, November 5, 2016, from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM at Fairforest Baptist Church Recreational Hall. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 5, 2016, at Fairforest Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Jay Alexander.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to, Piedmont Hospice 209-A Riverside Court, Greer, South Carolina 29650.
The families are at their respective homes.
