Spartanburg, SC---Mrs. Mildred Lister Cook, 86, of 8440 Taylor-Colquitt Rd, Spartanburg passed away Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008 at Spartanburg Hospital For Restorative Care.
Mrs. Cook was born in Spartanburg County on December 26, 1921, the daughter of the late Willie Floyd and Willie Mae (Tennyson) Lister. She was the widow of Jefferson M. Cook, a homemaker, and a member of United Baptist Church, Spartanburg, SC.
She is survived by 3 sons: David Cook of Spartanburg, John Cook of Flat Rock, NC, Steve Cook of Spartanburg, 4 grandchildren: Tim, Chris, and Joel Cook, Angie Cook Wilson, 5 great grandchildren: Marisa Cook, Jenni, Jonathan, Jeremy and Joy Wilson, her adopted families: the Gregcastillos and Boyce Hensley and family. She was predeceased by a grandson: Travis Cook.
The family is at the home and will receive friends Wednesday 7-9 PM at Seawright Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at United Baptist Church, Spartanburg, SC, at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 4th, with Rev Jack Weaver, Rev. Robert Carnell, Rev. David Frost and Rev. John Cook officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Inman, SC.
Memorial contributions may be made to the United Baptist Church Building Fund, 7319 Valley Falls Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
