Mildred Jenkins Ballew

Inman, SC — Our beloved Mother, Mildred Jenkins Ballew, 93, of Inman, widow of Paul Morrow Ballew, went to be with her Lord and Savior, November 4, 2011, at the Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Landrum.
Born May 29, 1918, outside of Pelzer, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Pliney and Ruby Hunt Jenkins. She was retired from Inman Mills. She was a lifetime member of Inman Mills Baptist Church where she was a teacher of the TEL Sunday School Class and served in many capacities. She was a graduate of Inman High School. She loved her family and friends and was faithful to her church. She excelled in basketball, cooking and enjoyed camping and travel.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 69 years, Paul Morrow Ballew. She is survived by two children; son, Dr. Steven Ballew of Arlington, Virginia; daughter, Paulette Ballew Hill of Inman; three grandchildren, the Rev. Thomas Hill and wife Tricia of Griffin, Georgia, Mary Hill Luker and husband, Jason of Marietta, Georgia and David Hill of Phnom Penh, Cambodia; four great-grandchildren - Mikayla, Joshua, and Jonathan Hill; Mildred "Milly" Luker; one sister, Ruth Ann Poore and husband Billy of Rock Hill and one brother, David Jenkins of Oxford, Georgia. She was predeased by two sisters: Lottie Jenkins Davis and Hazel Jenkins Campbell and four brothers, Ernest P. Jenkins, Jr., Jack Jenkins, Joe Jenkins, and Norman Jenkins. A special thank you to Mother's special caretakers: Lynn Neeves, Debra Ward, Faye Coley, Dolvin Henry and to our loving church family !
The Rev. Thomas Hill and the Rev. Jack Hames will conduct funeral services at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, Nov 6, 2011, at Inman Mills Baptist Church. Family will receive friends Sunday in the church sanctuary beginning at 2:00 PM. Serving as Honorary Escort will be the TEL Sunday School Class and the Faithful Workers Class. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
