Michael Ray Friday

Michael Ray Friday, 57, of 9 Claymont Ave. passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014, at Spartanburg Hospital For Restorative Care.
Mr. Friday was born in Chiseldon, Highworth, Wiltshire, England on October 23, 1956, and was a son of Betty Jo (Hill) Friday, of Spartanburg, SC and the late Virgil Friday. Michael was the devoted husband of Karen (Kimbrell) Friday and was a dedicated member of Northbrook Baptist Church in Boiling Springs, SC. Michael enjoyed serving in his church as co-chair of the Audio & Visual Dept. He was always dedicated to his Lord, his family and his many friends. He especially loved camping with his family and the fellowship of his camping friends. The family would like to give a special thanks for the kindness and loving care he received from the staff at the Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care.
Other survivors include his three daughters, Katie Aleman (Patrick) of Duncan, SC, Amanda Sun (Veasna), Rebecca Edwards (Kenneth) all of Boiling Springs, SC, a brother David Friday of Spartanburg, SC, and a sister, Susan Cogdell of Boiling Springs, SC, There are two granddaughters, LilyAnn and Ally Grace Aleman. Michael was predeceased by his loving aunt, Thelma Thomason.
The family will receive friends, Monday, Sept. 22, 2014 in the sanctuary of Northbrook Baptist Church from 7 to 9 PM. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014 at 4:00 PM in Northbrook Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Benny Green & Kiah Graves.
The staff of the Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care and his camper friends are invited to serve as Honorary Escort. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Northbrook Baptist Church Summer Mission Program , 1881 Boiling Springs Rd. , Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
