Michael Scott Blanton, 50, of 525 Alverson Road, passed away Monday, January 21st, at home.
Scott was born in Spartanburg,SC on April 30, 1968, a son of Delores Jean Murphy Hudson of Cowpens, SC and Marvin Ralph Blanton of Boiling Springs, SC.
He was a partner and co-owner at JP Carlton Company and was a follower of Godspeed Racing Ministry.
In addition to his parents, Scott is survived by a son, Dylan William Blanton of the home; a daughter, Grace Jade Blanton of the home; the mother of his children, Andrea Blanton of Campobello; three brothers, Tony Blanton of Cowpens, Chris Blanton of Philadelphia, PA, Barrett Blanton of Boiling Springs; two sisters, Linda Giles of Boiling Springs, Keirsten Blanton of Boiling Springs, his step-mother, Rita Blanton; and his fur buddy, "BB". He was predeceased by his stepfather, Wayne Hudson. Everyone who knew Scott knows the many different accomplishments he made, the numerous clubs and organizations he supported, and the giving person he was.
The family will receive friends 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman, South Carolina.
Funeral services will follow in the Seawright Funeral Chapel conducted by Pastor Scott Griffith, Chaplain, Racers For Christ.
